TRIZ is ontstaan tijdens het bestuderen van patenten door de Russische ingenieur Genrich Altschuller in de jaren ’50. Altschuller en zijn collega’s hebben ontdekt dat de beste uitvindingen bepaalde aspecten gemeen hebben.
